Once Upon A Time . . .: October 2010

Oh my goodness has this month been a busy one! So much has been going on and changing! I feel like time is flying by! I can't believe that I am the mother to two beautiful boys! I guess I will just start from the beginning! So I found out on Friday the 1st of October (the day of my grandpas funeral!) that baby Raef was breech! Had to go in and have an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok and it was, I was only dialated to a 2 with no contractions. So we decided to wait a couple days and then try to turn him! So Tuesday morning bright and early Rhett and I headed to the hospital, got all set up and the doctors came and tried to work thier magic! (which was one of the most painful things I have ever done! They got him completely turned around twice and both times he flipped right back over once they moved thier hands! So rather than put him under anymore stress we decided to go home and see if he would turn by himself and if not than that following friday we could try again! Well... I had to go in the next morning just to make sure that everything was still ok because the turning process can sometimes cause problems, and was dialated to a 6 and in labor! So we once again headed to the hospital to find out he was still breech and I would have to have a C-section! I was so nervous! I mean I pretty much cried like a baby when they put my IV in! I didnt know how I was going to do in surgery! I was so grateful to have my husband there with me! He was so sweet to me. Holding my hand and telling me everything would be ok! I was also lucky to have Wendy there with me too! She has this way of calming me down! Im so glad she was there!

This is my tough man all dressed up waiting to wheel me in! Words just don't do justice to this man! I love him with every bit of myself! I am so glad that he is mine for all eternity!

Little Raef was born at 4:49 pm. the 6th of October! He weighed 7lbs 3oz and was 20in. long! It was such a different experience not being able to see him right away. When they pulled him out I heard his sweet voice and at that moment nothing else mattered! Rhett leaned down and kissed me and I felt like my life couldn't get any better! Then they brought him around the curtain to lay him down and get him wrapped up and I got to kiss him then him and Rhett headed to the nursery while the doctors finished with me!

Bryce loves his little brother! I'll admit I was super nervous about how Bryce would take thie whole thing, I mean he's been our one and only baby for two years now and we have spoiled him rotten haha! but he has done amazing! He got kinda jealous at first but he's been good about it. He gets the baby's diapers and binkie and everytime someone picks him up he says "hug" because he wants to hug him too!

So we figured for being so good he deserved something!! so we went to the dollar store and he picked this!! haha He has been shooting everything he sees and if you ask him what you shoot he says elk! thanks to his daddy!

So Rhett and I have been trying really hard to make sure Bryce doesn't get ignored, which is pretty easy considering he's one of the two cuttest boys alive now haha!!
